Alice in Wonderland Slots Put To the Test

By | February 19, 2017

So many legendary stories have been transformed into online slots over the years – few to a more enormous extent than Alice in Wonderland. Sometimes cute, sometimes rather on the sinister side, but almost always entertaining. It’s a story everyone knows with characters we all recognise. But with so many slots out there based on the same theme, which examples are worth your time?

Well, today we thought we’d bring to your attention two that are definitely worth checking out – those being Alice and The Mad Tea Party and Alice Adventure. Rather different in the way they deliver the action, but both equally enjoyable in their own unique ways.

Alice and The Mad Tea Party

First up, Alice and The Mad Tea Party comes from the folks over at WMS and is a pretty classic slot with 30 paylines to play for. Spins are on offer from 50p right up to £100 each and there are no less than seven epic bonus features to enjoy. But what immediately stands out about Alice and The Mad Tea Party above and beyond most of its rivals is the way it looks. Quite simply, it looks absolutely awesome with the kinds of visuals that are difficult to critique in any way.

But is it all style without substance? Not at all – it has both in huge measures! During normal play, you might find your way into one of the five random bonus features at any time. First up, the Mad Hatter feature is a pick-me round where you get to pick from a bunch of teacups for multipliers up to a maximum of 10X. After this, there’s a Caterpillar feature where multipliers go as high as 15X.

The Cheshire Cat feature will see Cat wild symbols appear on the board, replacing up to 10 of the existing symbols with wilds. If you find yourself in the Alice feature, this will see anywhere between one and five of the reels being turned fully wild – all of which pretty much guarantees massive payouts!

The final randomly triggered feature is the Queen feature, where you get to select the playing card suit of your choice and have wild symbols replace them on the reels respectively. In this round, there’s the chance of taking home a whopping 250X your stake!

Not enough? Well, there’s also the Super Mad Respin feature which can be accessed if you hit three Alice symbols at the same time on the first reel. As the name mentions, it’s basically a free spins round where you can win up to seven in total. Last but not least, the Mad Tea Party Free Spin feature can be accessed by landing the Feature symbol on reels one, three and five, after which you’ll get six free spins to play with and the choice of a bunch of teapots before each spin. Depending on what’s hidden beneath, you could be in for a 3X multiplier, up to 14 free spins in total or all manner of additional wilds all over the place.

As you can probably see, Alice and The Mad Tea Party very much lives up to its name – well and truly bonkers! If anything, the fact that there are so many bonus rounds and features can get a little on the overwhelming side. But at the same time, this also means you’re unlikely to be stuck in the base game with nothing happening for very long at all! For its looks and performance alike, highly recommended!

Alice Adventure

As for Alice Adventure, this take on the classic story comes from the folks at iSoftBet and is likewise a classic five-reel slot with a total of 30 paylines to play for. Though it doesn’t quite have the same arsenal of bonus rounds and features as the above-mentioned slot, it still has more than enough going for it to warrant a thorough play-through!

It certainly looks the part and all the characters and icons from the story are here in spades…no pun intended. Alice, the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, the March Hare and so on, along with the usual playing card values. Alice is the biggest payer of all, worth a whopping 1,000-coin payout if you’re lucky enough to line up five in a row.

The scatter symbol takes the form of the Cheshire Cat, which interestingly doesn’t provide access to any bonus rounds, but instead makes for instant cash payouts. If you hit three, four or five of them in any positions on the reels, you’ll be in for a prize of 5X, 10X or 25X your bet respectively. As for the wild, that’s Alice herself and she’s good for taking the place of everything except the bonus and scatter symbols. These wilds can also land with a multiplier attached of anything from 2X to 5X.

The bonus symbol is the famed Drink Me Potion, which paves the way to the Alice Bonus feature if you land three or more at any time. When this happens, you’ll be awarded a 6X multiplier on all wins with five free spins, a 3X multiplier with eight free spins or a 1X multiplier with a generous 15 free spins.

As you can see, Alice Adventure perhaps doesn’t have the same kind of depth and complexity as its WMS sibling, but it’s still seriously good fun and presents the opportunity to take home some seriously impressive prizes. As always, we’d recommend trying both of them out for yourself to see which gets your vote – we think it’s too close to call with this one!
